Friday, March 18, 2022
Dear Parents,
I hope this email finds you well and you enjoyed the Purim festivities. I want to let you know we are working around the clock as we gear up for an amazing Summer 2022! I would like to take this opportunity to update you on some key information.
WHAT WILL CAMP LOOK LIKE THIS SUMMER?
After two years of living through the pandemic we recognize there have been different responses to the constantly evolving situation. At Camp Moshava Ennismore, we always plan for the safety of your children according to current governmental regulations and what we deem to be best practices across North America, with the goal of providing a meaningful and successful camp experience for our chanichim and madrichim. As of the news received today by the Ontario Camp Association, we do not foresee a situation where masking or cohorting will be mandated by the Provincial or Federal Government for overnight camps this summer. We will, of course, update you with our own operational guidelines or if any new governmental policies impacting the camp are implemented.
WILL THERE BE OUTINGS THIS SUMMER?
Only when we get closer to the summer, will we be able to determine best practices for entering and leaving camp. If we are not presented with more variants and the numbers of Covid-19 cases are low, we will be able to move forward with low risk, low exposure trips for our campers. In the event we do not leave camp, we already have a team working on creative and fun programming ideas throughout the summer that will keep our campers engaged. Please make sure to look out for special announcements on our social media pages.
WILL THERE BE MANDATORY VACCINES FOR CAMPERS AND STAFF?
All staff attending Camp Moshava Ennismore this summer will be required to be vaccinated against Covid-19. Currently, this is defined by Health Canada as having had a minimum of two doses fourteen (14) days before Camp starts.
For our Campers, as of this moment, there is no government mandate for vaccination against Covid-19 but in accordance with Public Health Ontario and the National Advisory Committee on Immunizations (NACI) vaccines against Covid -19 are strongly recommended since vaccination status impacts quarantine time for those that have Covid-19 or are exposed to the virus.
At this time, we have not made a final decision as to mandatory vaccine for campers. Our Health & Safety Committee and Covid-19 task force are looking at various factors and trends, and we will announce a final decision in the coming weeks. In the meantime, and as part of our gathering of information from all stakeholders, please take a couple of minutes to fill in this quick survey by Monday, March 21.

WAITLIST/SESSION LENGTH

In December we announced that our July session (the first 4 weeks of camp) is sold out and as of today, we have 2 dozen campers on our waitlist. For those of you that have a child on a waitlist or know others looking to join our Moshava family, we currently have room in our August session (the last 2 weeks of camp). Please note that we already have 25 new campers joining us for just that session so if you’re interested and your child is in grade 2-7, please register soon to avoid disappointment.
For the same reason, if you are registered for the first four weeks and think you might be extending for the final two weeks, please be in touch quickly before the space fills up. Once the final two week session is full, we will not able to guarantee your child/children a spot.
Finally, since the majority of hiring is already complete and the summer budget is set, switching from a six week session to a four week session will also not be allowed after April 1st.

PROGRAMMING/STAFF HIRES

We highly recommend you continue to check our social media pages for updates on new staff hires (also updated here on a weekly basis https://campmoshava.org/meet-our-staff/). We have so many wonderful returning and new Tzevet on board.
Starting after Pesach, look out for exciting announcements about new and fun programs planned for this summer. If you haven’t yet joined our social media pages, click the links at the bottom of this email.

If you want any additional information on any of the points raised above, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
We are REALLY looking forward to welcoming your kids back this summer!
THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING CAMP MOSHAVA!
