So well run

Quality of activities far surpasses other popular overnight camp for Ottawa Jewish kids and we absolutely loved how hands on the staff were in caring for the younger kids. We felt no concern that anyone would be ostracized or bullied. The set up seemed to really encourage staff engagement with kids to ensure that everyone was included and having fun at all times. Moshava also does a beautiful job of encouraging kids of different ages of developing friendships, which we loved. And we loved that the kids feel a deep connection with Israel through the Israeli staff. We also think you did a superb job of communicating with parents and of allowing us to feel very much part of the experience with daily pictures, videos, etc. Compared to the experience that our friends had sending their kids to camp for the very first time, Moshava far surpassed them all. We heard stories of children not showering or changing their clothes, others of kids being very sunburned, complaining of bullying, etc. And there never seemed to be a real confidence that the camp staff was dealing with those issues. We felt no such concern with Moshava. We were very confident that our child was very well cared for.

What Moshava teaches

Loving, supportive and inclusive atmosphere. Teaching conflict resolution, social skills and leadership.

Israel & Religious Content

Integrating Israel and religious content in a fun and informal way, with a great choice of activities is Moshava’s strength. Camp has a lot to offer the kids, but still has a warm, family feel.

Returning with pleasure

I have been meaning to write since Eyal returned from camp. Your email yesterday about camp ending today prompted me into action.

To no one’s surprise Eyal had a wonderful summer. He returned filled with wonderful memories and I am certain he will be returning in the coming years. There is now an ongoing argument between him and his NJ based cousins over which Moshava is better.

I wanted to thank you for all your efforts early on in the decision process and all throughout the summer.

Enjoy the rest of your summer. I hope you get a chance to take a few days off!!!

Best regards,

Arye

PS the daily pictures on the website were a most wonderful daily distraction

Rosh Eidah Aleph

Hello to all of you Eidah Aleffers out there! My name is Avital Fortinsky and I’m so excited to be your Rosh Eidah this summer! I live in Ra’anana, Israel and I’m currently learning Torah in Midreshet Nishmat in Yerushalayim. I spent 2 amazing years in Sherut Leumi including a year in Hebrew Academy in Montreal! This is going to be my fourth summer at camp. In previous years I was a speciallist, madricha, sgan and now I can’t wait to be Rosh Eidah and have the BEST summer ever! I can’t wait for all of the night tochniot, the agam, megamot and overnights! But really, my favorite part in camp is cheering and dancing in the Chadar!

I can’t wait to meet you all in person but in the meantime I’d love to hear from you all by email at avital.fortinsky@gmail.com.
